Rules and Regulations -- continued

Chain Of Command / Ranks:

- Any member of AMSOG may recommend an applicant for placement in AMSOG; it is however left to the AMSOG Commanding Officer for final approval.
- Any member of AMSOG may recommend another member for expulsion, based on failure to follow Federal, State and Local laws or failure to follow AMSOG Rules and Regulations. The three senior Officers of AMSOG will vote the expulsion of any member.
- The AMSOG Commanding Officer must approve all AMSOG applicants, guests, photographers, and spectators before attending an AMSOG sanctioned event.
- All AMSOG members will follow the AMSOG chain of command.

Alcohol and Drugs:

- AMSOG will not tolerate the use of alcohol or drugs during AMSOG attended events, what you do in you own time is your business. Those showing up to events drunk or high will be sent home with the possibility of expulsion from AMSOG. No exceptions. Clear minds are a necessity for combat situations and public relations.

Miscellaneous:

- AMSOG member Internet and forum communication should remain uninflammatory in nature. The Internet is vital to communication, but can reflect negatively on AMSOG if used incorrectly.

Basic Firearms Safety:

- Never display your Airsoft weapon in public!
- It is illegal to display a weapon in public unless it is holstered or in a case. It is also illegal to discharge Airguns (Airsoft/Paintball) within the Tucson city limits.
- Always follow the basic rules of firearm safety when handling Airsoft weapons.
- Always treat weapons as if they were loaded and lethal.
- Always maintain muzzle discipline by keeping your weapon pointed in a safe direction.
- Always keep your finger off the trigger unless ready to fire.
- Always keep your weapons locked in a safe location separate from ammunition until ready to fire.
- Always be sure of your target and what is behind it.
- Always wear proper eye and ear protection.
- Follow the previously listed rules until on the field and everyone has their ANSI 87.1 eye protection on and are cleared for play by the senior attending AMSOG Officer.

Airsoft Rules:

- Always call yourself out when hit. If in doubt, call yourself out to be safe. Make sure you yell HIT! Or act out your death loud enough so everyone knows your hit.
- If you are hit anywhere you are out this includes your gun and your gear.
- Never call hits on someone else. If you know you hit them and they did not respond, do not say anything. They may not have felt the hit. If you know they felt the hit, next time you shoot them, shoot them more or aim for skin and MAKE them feel it. NEVER call another player out. It is bad sportsmanship. If calling hits becomes a problem, discreetly inform your Senior AMSOG Officer and he will address the issue.
- Never shoot players at point-blank range unless your call for surrender was not heeded. (See surrender rule)
- Never leave the boundaries of the combat field.
- Never play dead or possum when an opponent is in view as it is dishonorable.
- Always display your Death Rag when hit or exiting the combat area. If you do not have a Death Rag hold your weapon above your head.
- Never talk or interact with other players once you have been hit. Dead men don’t talk.
- Always stay down once you are hit and only exit the combat area once the combat has moved away.
- Never insult or yell at another player.
- Please refrain from using profanity during AMSOG activities.
- Always wear proper ANSI 87.1 eye protection when not in the staging area. Do not lift your glasses or goggles even to wipe them off. It is always possible to catch a BB in the eye.
- Never blind fire as it is considered poor sportsmanship.
- Listen for the whistle 1 whistle = start game, 2 whistles = end game, 3 whistles = pause game.

Hit rules:

- AMSOG does not use injury rules. If you are hit you are considered dead. This is to eliminate controversy over hits during game play.
- AMSOG will on occasion use medic rules.
Each team will choose one player as a medic, this player will carry with them standard playing cards also know as death cards.
When you are hit you call for a medic, the medic will then give you 1 playing card. If the card is numbered then you must wait the minutes that coincide with the card from the time you are given the card. Face cards are instant regen, while Aces are considered ones.
You will be allowed to call for a medic until the medic no longer has cards to give.
If your medic is hit he will be issued a card from his kit but given by another teammate.

Surrender Rules:

- Airsoft guns can injure. If you get close enough to someone that injury is inevitable, have a direct shot, guaranteed kill, yell, “SURRENDER!” If the player chooses to surrender they are then dead. This allows the player to avoid possible serious injury. If they choose not to surrender which no one has to, then and only then is it permitted to shoot at extreme close range. Remember to aim for center mass to minimize possible injury.

Knife Kills:

- If a player is able to sneak up on anther player and tap him/her on their shoulder and say “KNIFE” then that is considered a knife kill and the player is then considered dead.

Staging Areas:

- Never test fire your weapons in the staging area. Find a safe place and shoot away from the staging area. Participants are not always wearing proper eye protection while in the staging area as it is considered a safe area. Ricochets do happen.
- AMSOG members will have AEG magazines removed from all weapons and stowed upon entering the staging area. AEG's should be placed on safety at this time. Sidearms should remain holstered.
- AMSOG members are expected to be ready to skirmish upon arrival. All magazines should be loaded, batteries charged and equipment ready to go upon arrival to the AO. No more than ten minutes should be needed to don gear.

Spectators, Photographers, and Guests:

- On occasion, someone who is not playing may be present in the staging and/or combat area. These people must always wear the proper ANSI 87.1 rated eye protection.
- Field photographers must be part of a combat team to maintain realism and to prevent confusion among players while searching for the opposing force.
- Spectators and guest are not permitted in the combat area during combat. They must remain in the staging area until combat has concluded. This is for there own safety.
