Membership:
- AMSOG applicants are required to be a minimum age of 18.
- AMSOG applicants must sign the Waiver agreement.
- AMSOG applicants must be of positive attitude and in good physical condition.
- AMSOG does not require previous Military experience but it is preferred. Common sense and the willingness to learn are all that are required.
- AMSOG applicants must be willing and able to attain the required uniform and equipment (see below). The required uniform and equipment are not required to join AMSOG; it is however required to advance out of the 90 day probationary period, and to become a full member of AMSOG. AMSOG will work with its members to achieve this goal.
- Anyone who wishes to join AMSOG is welcome. They must however prove that they have an understanding of the AMSOG Code Of Conduct and the AMSOG Rules and Regulations.
- All applicants to AMSOG will begin with a 90-day probationary period, after which time his/her performance and attendance will be reviewed by the AMSOG CO. After this period and providing the applicant has meet the uniform and equipment requirements the applicant will then be awarded AMSOG Nametapes and Patches.
Uniforms:
- All members of AMSOG are required to poses the following uniforms consisting of a Coat, Trousers, and a Boonie hat:

- AMSOG insignia and nametapes will be OD with black letters or MultiCam with Black Letters.
- AMSOG Members will not wear the US Army issue Reverse American Flag. (An exception will be made to those who are/where US Army).
- AMSOG Members will only wear subdued OD patches unless otherwise approved by the AMSOG CO. (Earned US Military Patches Excluded)
- AMSOG members will place their AMSOG nametape on their left shoulder pocket. Members will place their Last-name only nametapes (x2) over their right shoulder pocket and over their right rear trouser pocket. AMSOG recommends these nametapes be secured with hook-n-loop but it is not required, as the tapes can be removed from the uniform so it can be laundered without causing fading of the tapes themselves.
- AMSOG will allow members to wear other types of headgear/caps as long as they are somewhat “tactical” and are approved by the AMSOG CO.
- AMSOG Members will place their rank insignia on their Molle harness or carrier.
Equipment:
- AMSOG members are required to have some sort of load bearing equipment. It will be OD, Khaki, Tan, Coyote Brown, or Multicam in color. NO BLACK OR WOODLAND.
- AMSOG members are required to carry some sort of hydration system.
- AMSOG has no requirements for footwear as long as they are some sort of combat boot. NO TENNIS SHOES.
- AMSOG requires all of its members to own a FRS/GMRS radio with earbud, throatmic, or remote microphone.
- AMSOG requires that all members wear ANSI Z87.1 rated eye protection at all times.
- AMSOG strongly recommends but does not require the use of gloves.
- AMSOG requires its members to carry some sort of watch or timepiece.
- AMSOG requires its members to carry an emergency whistle for safety and signaling purposes.
- AMSOG recommends its members carry some sort of compass or GPS unit but it is not a requirement.
- AMSOG recommends its members carry some sort of multitool for field repairs and more importantly removing cactus.
- AMSOG requires its members to carry a personal first aid kit.
- AMSOG recommends its members use a mouthpiece, however it is not required.
Weapons:
- AMSOG requires its members to carry an M4/M16 Variant weapon. This is to facilitate the ease of exchanging magazines and other equipment between team members during simulated combat. Special circumstances do apply to snipers and support gunners. Contact the AMSOG CO with specifics or questions.
- AMSOG requires its members to have a sling for their primary weapon.
- AMSOG requires its members follow the Airsoft Arizona FPS regulations. 400 FPS with .20g BBs for all outdoor events and 500 FPS with singleshot or bolt-action rifles, with a minimum engagement range of 50’.
- All CQB games require the use of stock AEG FPS or FPS of 300 or less.
- AMSOG recommends it members use Standard, Mid, or Low capacity magazines however it is not a requirement, it does however add to the realism.
- AMSOG recommends its members carry a secondary weapon such as a GBB pistol preferably a Glock or M9 plus 2 additional magazines but it is not a requirement.
Supplies:
- AMSOG requires all members to provide their own batteries, gas, BBs, water, and food.
- AMSOG requires all members to only use 100% Bio-degradable BBs.
Meetings / Training / Events:
- AMSOG conducts team meetings every Friday before an Operation. The only exception to this is by direct notice from the AMSOG CO and/or XOs.
- AMSOG requires its members to give advance notice to either the AMSOG CO or XO if they will be unable to attend. Excessive absence without notification will result in removal from AMSOG. AMSOG members not residing in the AMSOG home city of Tucson Arizona or members who have been excused from a meeting are required to read and acknowledge the after meeting notes posted in the AMSOG forum.
- Attendance of non-hosted games shall be determined by AMSOG Command. While attendance at Command approved events is not compulsory, it is encouraged. Similarly, attendance at events not approved by Command is not forbidden. However we must insist that at those events you do not bear any AMSOG markings or affiliation until your 90 day probation has passed or are attending with a more senior AMSOG member.
